President

DR. VISHWAJEET SINGH PHAUGAT

Panipat

It is an immense honor to stand before you today as the President of N.I.M.A Haryana . First and foremost, I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude to each one of you for your continued commitment to the noble cause of Indian medicine, its rich heritage, and its future. Today marks not only a significant gathering of professionals but a reaffirmation of our collective duty to the health and wellness of our communities and protection of rights of our graduates is my first priority in Haryana .

As practitioners of Indian Systems of Medicine, whether it be Ayurveda, Homeopathy, Unani, or Siddha, we are bound by a shared ethos—a profound respect for nature, holistic well-being, and the wisdom passed down through generations. Our practice is more than just the delivery of health care; it is about restoring balance in the body, mind, and spirit. We stand on the shoulders of great sages, scholars, and healers who laid the foundation for these ancient healing systems, and it is our responsibility to carry this legacy forward with dedication, innovation, and integrity.

The Importance of Integration

As the landscape of healthcare evolves globally, we must acknowledge the increasing demand for integrative approaches. The modern world is witnessing a shift towards holistic care, where conventional medicine is often being combined with traditional knowledge to provide more effective, patient-centered treatments. The Indian System of Medicine, with its focus on prevention, personalized treatment, and sustainable healing, is uniquely positioned to contribute to this movement.

However, this integration must not merely be symbolic—it must be based on robust scientific validation, research, and the enhancement of patient outcomes. It is time that we, as a community of practitioners, invest in research to validate and showcase the effectiveness of our systems, in collaboration with modern science and technology. Our collective voice can push for greater recognition, funding, and institutional support for traditional healing systems.

Challenges and Opportunities

That being said, we are not without our challenges. Over the years, there has been a growing disconnect between traditional medicine and mainstream healthcare systems. In many cases, our knowledge and practices are still underappreciated or misunderstood, and our contributions undervalued. We face institutional, regulatory, and even cultural hurdles that make it difficult to fully integrate ISM into the national and global healthcare landscape.

But these challenges are not insurmountable. Through unity, advocacy, and continued education, we can create more awareness and understanding. Let us invest in strengthening the infrastructure of ISM education and practice. Let us ensure that our future generations of doctors are equipped not just with traditional wisdom, but also with the scientific acumen needed to navigate the modern world.

Moving Forward

As an association, we are not just custodians of a time-honored tradition—we are agents of change. We must lead by example. Our actions must inspire confidence in the efficacy of Indian medicine, both within the medical community and in the public domain.
I urge all of you to be ambassadors of ISM in your respective fields. Let us take our place alongside other healthcare professionals, not as rivals, but as collaborators. It is only through mutual respect and understanding that we can collectively advance the cause of health, healing, and wellness.

Together, we can create an ecosystem where Indian Systems of Medicine are recognized not as relics of the past, but as a dynamic, forward-thinking approach to health that resonates with the needs of the 21st century.

In closing, let us take this opportunity to strengthen our bond as a community and set the stage for a future where the healing wisdom of our traditions plays an integral role in global healthcare.
Thank you, and I look forward to fruitful discussions, collaborations, and shared growth in the days ahead.
